Two honored at St. Johns

Don Hoover was named Builder of the Year and Greg Russell got Associate of the Year honors at the annual banquet of the St. Johns Builders Council.

Hoover owns Homes by Hoover and Russell is with Advanced Insulation.

The banquet, held at Marsh Creek Country Club, also saw Appreciation Awards going to Barbara Goll of Re/Max 100, Bill Lazar of the St. Johns Housing Partnership and Randy Brunson.

Hall of Fame recognition went to Ed Paucek of the Blackstar Group, and Herbie Wiles Insurance.

Lazar was installed as the 2010 chairman, succeeding Dennis Ginder of Mattamy Homes.

Other officers are Andy Chance of The CB Group, first vice chairman; and Robert Marshall of World Island Builders, second vice chairman.

Board members include Frank Strange, Atlantic Residential Contracting; Jon Benoit, Behst Builders; Russell; Tom Coates, Coates Construction; Ginder; Goll; Seymoine Schmidt, BB&T Mortgage; and Dave Caputo, Mercedes Homes.
